Over the years, around 60 notable earthquakes have occurred in California and the majority of them occurred during the winter months you plan on spending there with your family. The best way to decrease the negative effects of natural disasters on you and your family is to educate, communicate, and plan as a family. There are many questions that need to be answered… what cities have the lowest risk of being struck by an earthquake? What cities have been devastated in the past by earthquakes? What can you do to prepare for one? What do you do when one occurs? Are there any modifications you can make to your home to minimize damages? In this activity you will create educational resource for your parents to ensure you or family is not harmed by an earthquake in your new home.
