Your Task
Buying a house is a lengthy process that requires taking many things into consideration. Now we are adding the dangerous aspect of buying a house in an area that is at risk of earthquakes. You need to be aware of many things and be prepared for what to do when an earthquake occurs. You will work with your “siblings” (other members of your group) to create an educational resource to present to your parents. The purpose of the resource will be to educate your parents on the following:
1. The associated hazards of living in an earthquake-risk area.
2. The history of previous earthquakes in the area.
3. The cities with the lowest risk of being struck by an earthquake.
4. How to prepare for an earthquake and what to do when one occurs.
5. Any steps you could take to protect your family and new house from the hazards associated with earthquakes.
After you developed your educational resource, you will share it with everyone and persuade your parents to buy a house located in a specific city in southern California.
